About Alex
I may not look like a conventional career nanny on paper. What I offer is something families often value even more: a lifetime of practical childcare experience, mature judgement, energy, warmth and a record of keeping children safe and happy.

What parents can expect
I have spent more than thirty years caring for children—from newborn babies to teenagers—and supporting the parents who love them. I raised three children of my own, now all at university, and for ten years I was a trained and licensed foster parent. During that time, I cared for six infants, including more than one baby at a time.
At Camp Runoia, I was known to many children as their “summer mum.” My job was far bigger than running programmes. I knew the children, noticed when something was wrong, talked with parents, worked alongside the health centre and carried daily responsibility for everyone’s physical safety and emotional wellbeing.
I believe in kind, clear boundaries. I am happy managing feeds, naps, nappies and laundry, but equally comfortable with homework, sibling dynamics, table manners, outings and the hundred small transitions that make up family life. I am warm and funny—and extremely hard to rattle.
Experienced from newborn onwards.Infant care
During ten years as a trained and licensed foster parent, Alex cared for six infants—including more than one baby at a time. She is comfortable with bottles, feeds, winding, nappies, settling and the steady routines that help babies feel secure.
She brings the calm practical experience that reassures parents too: noticing the small things, following each family’s preferences carefully and providing clear, thoughtful handovers.
